A relaxed first visit with our horses in Rohnert Park — for the kid who feels big things, holds back, or just needs a place to feel capable.
🌾 Love the first session or it's free — and the $60 is credited toward the program.
You're not failing your kid. The usual tools just weren't built for a child like yours.
"My child gets overwhelmed by little things, and I don't know how to help."
"They've lost confidence — and I've run out of ideas."
"Screens are the only thing that calms them, and I hate it."
"I don't want therapy-mode. I just want them to feel okay again."
You want them calmer, more confident, more like themselves — without one more thing they'll resist.
This is the part that works when classrooms and clinics don't. A horse is an honest mirror — it reads your child's energy and responds in real time. To lead a gentle giant, your child has to slow their own body first.
So calm, confidence, boundaries and connection aren't talked about — they're practiced, in the body, in the moment. And because it feels like play, the kid who resists everything else leans in.
No worksheet. No lecture. Just your child, a patient horse, and that quiet "I did that" they carry to the car.
No experience needed. We move at your child's pace, start to finish.
We meet you at the ranch, give your child a moment to take it all in, and introduce the herd from a comfortable distance. No rushing, no pressure — just getting used to the quiet.
Your child meets a gentle horse up close — a soft hand, a slow breath, the warmth of an animal that simply accepts them. For a lot of kids, this is where their shoulders drop for the first time all week.
Guided by Christal, your child tries a simple ground activity — grooming, leading, or a calm-body exercise. They feel the horse respond to them, and that's where confidence quietly clicks on.
Before you go, we'll share what we noticed and, if you'd like, talk through whether a longer program is a fit. Zero pressure — many families just come back for another visit.
About 60–90 minutes · Rohnert Park, Sonoma County · Closed-toe shoes, that's it.
We honestly don't care whether your child ever rides. The growth happens on the ground — grooming, leading, breathing, connecting. It's the moment a nervous child realizes a 1,000-pound horse trusts them, and they start trusting themselves.
We go weekly and look forward to it every time. My daughter learned how to care for a horse — and how to control her body and her mind.

You don't have to commit to anything but an hour. Come meet the herd and see how your child does.

No. This is growth and connection, not medical treatment. We're not therapists, we don't diagnose or treat any condition, and this isn't a substitute for clinical care. Many of our families also work with a therapist, OT, or doctor — and we're glad to work alongside your child's care team.
Not at all. Everything happens on the ground — grooming, leading, and connecting. Riding is never the point and only ever happens if a child is truly ready and wants to.
Kids roughly 5–13 — the child who feels everything deeply, holds back, or just needs a place to feel capable. On the Discovery we'll make sure it's a good fit for your child specifically.
That's exactly the child this is built for. The horse doesn't push — it invites. We've watched the most reluctant kids quietly light up by the end of the hour. And if it's not a fit, the Discovery is free.
If you'd like to keep going, the $60 is credited toward our 6-week Grounded Kids Program, and families often continue with a weekly membership after that. No pressure at the Discovery — that hour stands on its own.
